Each 40-minute session involves a comprehensive examination so that an accurate diagnosis can be made. A professional, hands-on treatment approach is used for all musculoskeletal disorders, based on scientific evidence and clinical reasoning. The patient is given a few home exercises to ensure long-term results. Depending on the complexity of the issue, the patient may need a few treatment sessions.
Tailored, one on one treatment sessions with patients aim to provide the best possible outcomes and the fastest recovery possible.
The essence of the business is to take the best clinical practice in physiotherapy and combine it with a calm, healing environment.
Skye Moore Physio is located close to a bus stop on the main road to UNE, which makes access to the practice convenient for both young and old.
Skye Moore enjoys helping patients take control of their lives, through hands-on treatment and exercises, equipping them with the skills to self-manage their problem.
Skye has over 20 years of experience working as a physiotherapist. She combines her experience with continued professional development to ensure she provides the most up-to-date and effective treatment possible.
Skye is proud to support the Armidale community through initiatives such as volunteering her services to one of the local sporting teams at Saturday games. From this, and her own personal experiences, she has gained a keen interest in concussion injuries and the associated headaches and migraines.
Skye has completed Level 1 and Level 2 of the Watson Headache ® Approach. This approach has been shown, through research, to directly decrease brainstem sensitivity, which is one of the main causes of headache and migraine.
Over 70% of Australians experience neck and back pain at some point in their lives. Physiotherapy treatment aims to provide effective and long-lasting relief of neck and back pain
Injuries while playing sport are common. Whether mild or severe, each injury should be addressed to prevent long term problems arising.
It’s important to restore strength and mobility after surgery. We can provide a customised exercise program in combination with individualised manual therapy with the aim of restoring full function.
Exercise prescription can be provided to those who have had an injury, undergone surgery, require core strengthening and for general fitness. Exercises are an integral part to the success of most physiotherapy treatments.
It is now understood that headaches and migraines are caused by a sensitized nervous system, specifically hypersensitivity of the brainstem. When this reaches a certain threshold, it will bring on a headache or migraine episode. Whilst there are many factors which can increase this sensitivity, the upper neck is often a major contributor. This is our area of expertise.
Any joint or muscle of the body can become sore, stiff or inflamed. The reason for the pain can be variable and physiotherapy is aimed at the correct diagnosis and appropriate treatment of the condition rather that just treating the symptoms.
Chronic pain can be very disabling. It’s often complex and slow to treat and It’s important to have a good team working together to manage the symptoms. Physiotherapy can be beneficial to this treatment.
